I think this has to do with the idea of the parents who are always working, they can afford expensive gifts but their kids always say they just wish they were around more. Money doesn't bring happiness, time and effort to be there and to make memories together, your children need a good relationship with you so they trust you and they know they can go to you.
They will remember the time you spent with them not all the gifts you get them
